A quick chat with Ian Bonde, CEO at ViBe Saúde

PUBLISHED: November 2, 2020

Born in Tokyo to a Swedish father and Argentine mother, Ian has lived in many countries including South Africa, United States and Brazil. The latter since 2001. Before co-founding ViBe, Ian was Managing Director and Senior Partner at strategic consulting firms The Strategis Group and Itelogy Partners – both with Latin American focus. Ian has worked with healthcare for 10+ years.

Why ViBe?

The idea behind ViBe was to create a one-stop-solution, a first point-of-contact for all of our consumers’ healthcare needs. Brazil has a large population of 210 million, with more than 60% having limited access to quality care. Our purpose is to offer all our patients the best continuous digital care at a fair price. We want to make a positive impact on the lives of millions of Brazilians and their families.

How does Webrock Ventures support ViBe?

Webrock has been a real partner, even before they invested in ViBe. For over a year we discussed market fit, strategy, operations, and I think most importantly our vision, culture, and purpose. Today, as we build our way to becoming the #1 digital care solution in Brazil, the Webrock crew has become an integral part of our team.

How has Covid-19 impacted ViBe?

With the advent of Covid-19, we quickly had to pivot our business. We pretty much fast forwarded our plan by 12 months to deep-dive into virtual care (telemedicine) and our digital therapeutics businesses. Today we have over 350000 downloads and over 10,000 errands per month with our nurses, doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, and physical trainers. We plan to reach 400,000 downloads, by the end 2020 and 1.5million downloads by 2021, with over 500k yearly errands.
